I work and live in Daverio, near Varese (Italy).
My work focuses mainly on matter complexity and finding its right blending with colour, guided by a desire for a free research, out of any schemes. This way I can create the sensation of something unexpected and surprising. Should I sum my works up, I see them as a thread combining different places and environments, chromatic events able to produce strong visual and tactile feelings.
Very often my paintings don't set a final outcome, because matter behaves as if could impose itself as possible projection towards other shapes. As if the work of art could be neither completely closed nor defined, but able to give rise to continuous mutations: this is the real charm of the matter. I express this dynamic dimension with my paintings, their cracks, their “rips”, their chromatic blends and combinations.
My desire is being able to find a conceptual affinity between painting and architecture, because at the very end in both cases you're playing with matter and light trying to influence space.
The materials I use most are baked clay, chalk, setting coats, wood, metal and powder putties, while talking of colours I prefer the acrylic ones, enamels, natural pigments and elements. For my canvas I only use jute, so to obtain the best results in terms of resistance and chromatic prominence.
